WACO: THE AFTERMATH
Art + Design Direction, Branding
WACO: THE AFTERMATH is a follow up to Season 1 of Waco. This limited 6-part series showcases the timeline of the aftermath of the Waco siege and what happens when people lose faith: in religion, in people, and in the government. Themes that couldn’t be more relevant today.
In the series, Michael Shannon plays Gary Noesnor, an FBI hostage negotiator and key figure in the Waco siege. Gary tries desperately to raise awareness about the burgeoning wave of domestic terrorism stemming from the aftermath of Waco. The reverberations of the Waco incident serve as a catalyst, ultimately culminating in the tragic Oklahoma City bombing.
For the key art, it was important to capture the weight that was brought upon Michael Shannon’s Gary Noeser, in the series. There’s ambiguity to the scenes exact whereabouts, but the message is undeniably clear. It’s an emotional and provocative image that displays an urgent resonance with the state of our national discourse.
The series, which premiered on April 16, has become the third most-streamed Showtime original debut to date, behind only Dexter: New Blood and Yellowjackets.
